On Eulerian irregularity in graphs

چکیده
A closed walk in a connected graph G that contains every edge of G exactly once is an Eulerian circuit. A graph is Eulerian if it contains an Eulerian circuit. It is well known that a connected graph G is Eulerian if and only if every vertex of G is even. An Eulerian walk in a connected graph G is a closed walk that contains every edge of G at least once, while an irregular Eulerian walk in G is an Eulerian walk that encounters no two edges of G the same number of times. The minimum length of an irregular Eulerian walk in G is called the Eulerian irregularity of G and is denoted by EI(G). It is known that if G is a nontrivial connected graph of size m, then ( m+1 2 ) ≤ EI(G) ≤ 2 ( m+1 2 ) . A necessary and sufficient condition has been established for all pairs k,m of positive integers for which there is a nontrivial connected graph G of size m with EI(G) = k. A subgraph F in a graph G is an even subgraph of G if every vertex of F is even. We present a formula for the Eulerian irregularity of a graph in terms of the size of certain even subgraph of the graph. Furthermore, Eulerian irregularities are determined for all graphs of cycle rank 2 and all complete bipartite graphs.

The irregularity and total irregularity of Eulerian graphs
For a graph G, the irregularity and total irregularity of G are defined as irr(G)=∑_(uv∈E(G))〖|d_G (u)-d_G (v)|〗 and irr_t (G)=1/2 ∑_(u,v∈V(G))〖|d_G (u)-d_G (v)|〗, respectively, where d_G (u) is the degree of vertex u. In this paper, we characterize all connected Eulerian graphs with the second minimum irregularity, the second and third minimum total irregularity value, respectively.

Let G=(V(G),E(G)) be a connected simple undirected graph with non empty vertex set V(G) and edge set E(G). For a positive integer k, by an edge irregular total k-labeling we mean a function f : V(G)UE(G) --> {1,2,...,k} such that for each two edges ab and cd, it follows that f(a)+f(ab)+f(b) is different from f(c)+f(cd)+f(d), i.e. every two edges have distinct weights. The minimum k for which G ...

In this paper we define the removable cycle that, if $Im$ is a class of graphs, $Gin Im$, the cycle $C$ in $G$ is called removable if $G-E(C)in Im$. The removable cycles in Eulerian graphs have been studied. We characterize Eulerian graphs which contain two edge-disjoint removable cycles, and the necessary and sufficient conditions for Eulerian graph to have removable cycles h...
متن کاملThe maximal total irregularity of some connected graphs
The total irregularity of a graph G is defined as 〖irr〗_t (G)=1/2 ∑_(u,v∈V(G))▒〖|d_u-d_v |〗, where d_u denotes the degree of a vertex u∈V(G). In this paper by using the Gini index, we obtain the ordering of the total irregularity index for some classes of connected graphs, with the same number of vertices.
متن کاملVertex Removable Cycles of Graphs and Digraphs
In this paper we defined the vertex removable cycle in respect of the following, if $F$ is a class of graphs(digraphs) satisfying certain property, $G in F $, the cycle $C$ in $G$ is called vertex removable if $G-V(C)in in F $. The vertex removable cycles of eulerian graphs are studied. We also characterize the edge removable cycles of regular graphs(digraphs).
